{"id":234,"date":"2005-01-09T00:25:05","date_gmt":"2005-01-09T05:25:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scaredpoet.com\/wordpress\/?p=234"},"modified":"2005-01-08T00:28:02","modified_gmt":"2005-01-08T05:28:02","slug":"even-at-night-you-cant-be-drunk-and-on-the-air","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scaredpoet.com\/blog\/?p=234","title":{"rendered":"Even at night, you can&#8217;t be drunk and on the air"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A while back, New York tabloids were abuzz when Frankie Blue, then programming director for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wnew.com\/\">WNEW FM<\/a> in New York, <a href=\"http:\/\/argonaut.scaredpoet.com\/wordpress\/index.php?p=216\">stumbled into the studio after a holiday party<\/a>, got into an argument with the night DJ forcing her to leave, and then proceeded to take over his own radio station, all while allegedly intoxicated.  Blue was subsequently unavailable for comment, as he was on a &#8220;previously planned vacation.&#8221;  And his stammering on the air &#8211; an incident which may have even involved uttering the F-Word &#8211; was attributed to &#8220;nervousness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It now appears that this &#8220;vacation&#8221; has become permanent, as WNEW has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fmqb.com\/Article.asp?id=60809\">announced Blue&#8217;s replacement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thus the big difference between traditional radio and alternative formats like satellite.  On traditional FM radio, spouting profanities while drunk on the air will get you fired.
