I understand that sometimes job action is needed to get the attention of management in a labor dispute.  However, there are just some industries where unannounced sympathy strikes only serve to make your position VERY unfavorable in the eyes of the public.<\/p>\n<p>Case in point?  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timesonline.co.uk\/article\/0,,2087-1734349,00.html\">British Airways<\/a>.  Maybe forcing the cancellation of an entire day&#8217;s schedule of flights (i.e. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scaredpoet.com\/wordpress\/?p=223\">pulling a &#8220;United&#8221; stunt<\/a>) got management&#8217;s attention, but it turned thousands of passengers who were stranded into people who are going to look upon you with sheer anger.
