If you want to lick someone&#8217;s toes in the Netherlands, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2004\/LAW\/08\/06\/crime.toes.reut\/index.html\">you must get consent first<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Peter van Heemst, a Labor member of parliament, asked Christian Democrat Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner Friday to explain why Dutch laws forbid littering but not uninvited toe-licking. Van Heemst demanded an amendment prohibiting it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a violation of one&#8217;s privacy and one&#8217;s physical integrity,&#8221; he told a local news agency. &#8220;The norm&#8230; is that no one should touch your body if you haven&#8217;t asked them first.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I kinda thought that simple assault or harrassment laws covered that sort of thing.  I guess not?<\/p>\n<p>Good to know that the Dutch have such pressing social issues to worry about.  But what a drag&#8230; if I ever find myself in Amsterdam, I know that pot is allowed, but if I ever crave the taste of toes, well, that&#8217;s just out unless I have a willing accomplice.
