First off, before I get the beatdown from Mac zealots, Macs aren’t all bad. Onezumi, who kicks ass in the art she does and is partly the driving force behind my getting this site up and running, illustrates in this comic. Did I mention she kicks ass? 🙂 [/brown_nose]
But, Macs aren’t perfect. And they certainly aren’t as secure and exploit-free as Apple would like everyone to believe. Another security vulnerability was found in Mac OS X just yesterday. If you’re using Mac OS versions 10.2 or 10.3, it’s time to check for updates, or you can go here and download the update directly.
I think we’re coming to the point where Mac users can no longer say their computers’ OS is more secure than the alternatives out there.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, said last month, “While no operating system can be completely immune from all security issues, Mac OS X’s Unix-based architecture has so far turned out to be much better than most.”
Uhhhmm… nooo, it’s still Unix, Philip. It’s not that Unix is better. It’s just that everyone else has done most of the work for you already. And let’s just hope for your sake Apple doesn’t gain more market share and become more of a target, eh?
Heh. I didn’t pay for that plug. Honest. I’d never mine the sugar like a butt ferret. 😀
hey, I got plugged on your site, so I had to return the favor. Even though at present, my visitor total is like, two… 🙂
