Read this and tell me something isn’t up…

So yeah, this is a li’l scary…

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A university student from Egypt was ordered held without bond after prosecutors said they found a pilot’s uniform, chart of Memphis International Airport and a DVD titled “How an Airline Captain Should Look and Act” in his apartment.

The FBI is investigating whether Mahmoud Maawad, 29, had any connection to terrorists. He is awaiting trial on charges of wire fraud and fraudulent use of a Social Security number.

Maawad, who is in the United States illegally, told the judge during a hearing Thursday that he is studying science and economics at the University of Memphis.

“My school is everything. I stay in this country for seven years; I stay for the school,” he said.

And on his spare time he impersonates pilots, Allah willing?

  1. Give me absolute power over the government, put a telescreen in every house, place of work and on every street and give me an unstoppable police force that WILL find you and WILL take you down if you’re found trying to even think out against the government.

Quite frankly, the only way to really stop stuff like this would either be to bar all entry into this country, remove all people who have immigrated between a guestimated set of years and hope for the best or to implement an entirely Big Brother-like society.

Or maybe I’m just being a bit extreme with this all.

  2. Ooooorrr, we could stop being “friendly” with Saudi Arabia, which seems to be what ol’ Osama’s beef is with us in the first place. Okay, okay, so Saudi Arabia has oil. Bad idea.
