Okay, I’ll concede this: it’s not exactly breaking news that Bush is a little… stubbornly obsessive, sometimes. I’m sure even Bush-worshippers (not just conservatives, but hard-line, kneel-and-praise-Bush, Bush worshippers) can agree to that.
But now, there’s a bit of a PR spat over just how insanely fanatical Bush may truly be. The Palestinians are now saying that Bush practically called himself God’s Right hand (yes, pun intended), though they’ve sought to tone down the significance of what was said in subsequent interviews, no doubt thanks to diplomatic pressure from Washington. But hey, you be the judge:
Shaath said: “President Bush said to all of us: ‘I’m driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan’.”
Shaath goes on to describe Bush as saying: “And I did, and then God would tell me, George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq… And I did. And now, again, I feel God’s words coming to me, Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East. And by God, I’m gonna do it.'”
Holy Bush, Batman! It sure as hell sounds like our folksy, bumbling “free-world” leader to me. Even though the White House’s tack is to deny, deny, deny.
I knew Bush was a little religious and God-fearin’ and all, but I didn’t realize he fashioned himself after Pat Robertson so much. What’s next: will Bush start delivering speeches in glossolalia? Might he trump Pat Robertson and do an Oral Roberts, and start proclaiming he can “raise the dead” to fight his war in Iraq? At this point, there seems to be no limit for what Bush will claim.
My fellow Americans. I will need you all to help me build a massive structure on which we can store two of each and every animal.
…Guh, I need to stop using those faces that involve HTML tags.
Pardon the double-comment, blah, blah…
“I just thought I’d take a stab at where Bush’ll go next with his 00bar craziness.” Or something. x_x
