Information direct from Apple can be found here. Somehow, I’m not surprised that these batteries were made by LG Electronics, which has been trying for a while now to shake its reputation for lousy quality.
The Dave Matthews Band, in an act that can be alluded to the decline in their carreer over the years, is being sued by the State of Illinois for literally making a stink:
CHICAGO — The state of Illinois sued the Dave Matthews Band on Tuesday for allegedly dumping up to 800 pounds of liquid human waste from a bus into the Chicago River, dousing a tour boat filled with passengers.
So, it’s bad enough they decide to pollute a river with raw sewage from their tour bus, but could the driver that made the dump not have looked down to where he was, uhm, launching?

Microsoft is finally releasing Service Pack 2 into the wild via its Windows Update platform. Those of us in the know, however, have had SP2 for quite a while.
While the Bush Administration (and to be fair, presidential administrations that long preceeded the current one) emphasizes the fundamental human rights violations that plagued pre-invasion Iraq, it continues to play its double-standard in the region by ignoring similar abuses in other countries… like, Iran:
On Sunday, August 15, a 16-year-old girl in the town of Neka, northern Iran, was executed. Ateqeh Sahaleh was hanged in public on Simetry Street off Rah Ahan Street at the city center.
The sentence was issued by the head of Neka’s Justice Department and subsequently upheld by the mullahs’ Supreme Court and carried out with the approval of Judiciary Chief Mahmoud Shahroudi.
What was the crime she committed? Who knows? The article certainly doesn’t say… because it doesn’t matter. According the to the judge on the case:
The judge personally pursued Ateqeh’s death sentence, beyond all normal procedures and finally gained the approval of the Supreme Court. After her execution Rezai said her punishment was not execution but he had her executed for her “sharp tongue”.
While I support the right of free speech for all activists regardless of cause, protestors should always make sure they are at the right place when they do it. Especially if you’re a rabid pro-life activist trying to disturb the peace of a neighborhood and end up at the wrong house:
The protesters thought they were demonstrating outside the home of an Albany, N.Y.,-area doctor who performs abortions.
Instead, they chanted and held posters of mutilated fetuses outside the home of a couple with a 2-month-old daughter.
The protesters used a bullhorn to yell “Evil dwells here.”
