Coke: Unexpected Location of classified sites.

Recently, Coca-Cola launched it’s “Unexpected Summer” contest, where about 120 winning devices were hidden in packs of Coca-Cola. These devices are designed to look and feel like cans, but when you encounter one you disccover that it’s actually a GPS transmitter with a built-in cell phone.

Activate it, and you’re immediately put in touch with a high-level Coke contest official, who (if you agree) will track your location with the device and will surprise you in some random unexpected way at any point within the next three weeks with your prize. How random? Well, commercials and websites have trumped up scenes of SUVs being parachuted from the sky, parades marching up to your house, and other odd wacky things.

Interesting concept. But very, very bad if you’re serving in the military and you activate such a device, at least according to the Department of Defense.

Catholic Archdiocese of Portland: “Oh well, what to do?”

whattodo

So, let’s say you’re a massively huge religious organization whose restrictive policies on sex and sexuality end up enticing your priests and members of authority to commence much buggerdry. This buggerdry of course is foisted upon helpless children, who keep quiet for fear of retribution (and probably because they felt they wouldn’t be believed if they came out with the truth). They keep this trauma hidden until they either come of age or their parents find out, and much court shenanigans ensue once the cat is out of the bag.

So now, you are faced with mounting lawsuits, both from people who want to cash in, and from those who honestly feel there is no other way to punish you other than hitting your wallet. So what do you? You could own up and take responsibility, or you can turn tail and run.

What WOULD Jesus Do?

Well according to the Catholic church, the answer is simple: turn tail and run of course! It protects your assets, makes sure no one gets a single red cent without going through arduous court processes that could take years, and as an added perk it halts all those embarassing lawsuits where all the details about what happened might leak out. What a nice solution.

“Four More Wars!”

Can you beleive that the Bush/Cheney Campaign failed to register the Bush2004.com domain name? Fortunately, the left wing has done them a favor and picked it up for them… 🙂

Since then, Rodgers has received calls from Bush supporters who have offered to pay as much as $135,000 for the domains. He declined to sell, citing animosity toward the incumbent president as the chief reason.

“He’s a sorry son of a bitch and I’ll do anything I can to bring him down,” said Rodgers, who now lives outside Austin and is using the domains to house a satire site poking fun at the president. The fate of Bush2004.com is an oft-repeated example of what happens when politicians neglect to snap up websites containing common variants of their name and election year.

In this case, yay for domain speculators. All that’s needed now are bumper stickers and such advertising the site. 🙂
