If life gives you lemons…

The Boy Scouts are raising money for their $14 Million forest fire bill, by having a lemonade sale… at $250 a glass. They couldn’t even sell one:

After two hours, they had netted only $66.43.

“It’s just the beginning,” Fisher said, calculating that with 210,000 similarly lucrative lemonade sales, the $14 million would be raised.

Ah, Boy Scouts. Ever the homophobic, discriminatory optimists. If I were a religious man, I’d say God’s trying to tell them something.

Perhaps they would be better off selling cookies?

MPAA: Really nabbing the hardened criminals now.

It seems the MPAA is all up and proud that their goons have managed to nab a 16-year-old kid taping the first showing of Spiderman 2.

Oh yeah, hell of a PR coup there. Nothing spells blockbuster sleuthing like nabbing a kid for making a crummy, grainy, badly-framed videotape of a movie off the theatre screen, complete with lousy audio, that is when you can hear it over people talking, coughing, sneezing and whooping at action scenes. Because we all know that everyone would reather see a crummily-recorded HandyCam version of the movie, making us all not want to go to the theater, or buy the real version when it comes out on DVD, right?

And they used night vision goggles to catch the kid, too. Gee, now I really know why movie tickets are so expensive.
