Google SMS

This appears to have been around for a while, but I just came across it. It’s an interesting tool for when you want to look up something quick and have only your cell phone with you:

Basically, Google now has an interface where quick queries can be made via short-code SMS. Quite nifty.

Psst! Wanna buy some vaccine?

First drugs, then bombs and terrorist tools… now flu vaccine is being smuggled into the US:

Tipped off by a local hospital administrator who had been approached by someone about buying black market vaccine, agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement seized 8,000 doses on Nov. 16 at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Investigators had been waiting for the shipment for more than a week, spokesman Marc Raimondi said. The vaccine was shipped from the French drug company Aventis Pasteur to Saudi Arabia. It was then shipped by air via commercial carrier to New York, Raimondi said.

Funny how somehow, Saudi Arabia gets fingered in just about every act of smuggling these days. 🙂

Wow, slow news day?

I guess absolutely nothing happened at the White House today and the Associated Press has been taken over by script kiddies with no sense for newsworthiness, because the AP now feels that when Bush goes to church and rides a bike on Sunday, that’s OHNOES BREAKING NOOZ!!!11oneone:

nothing

Did I really need to know that he changed his clothes after returning from church and meandering in the rose garden? Am I supposed to care that he even went to freakin’ church, as if that was something he never did before on a Sunday? And “Great to see ya?” That’s the earth-shattering quote of importance today that was worth wasting the time it took me to read that in total disbelief?

I want my 30 seconds back.

What’s next? Fox News breaking in for a Special Report, to get the scoop that the president had a burger for lunch?
